I announced in August that an old wooden house had been bought and that it should be transferred to the land I am paying for in the Jardim Ipê (Tabebuia) area of Foz do Iguaçu. The dream has not come true yet. But is its close. I have been able to get some money and it is almost sure that this week - the first week of November the frame of the little house will be up and covered. Then I will start posting the news and so on. A few funny things have happened. First: I spent hard won money on the wrong land lot. I had the foundation laid on a neighbor´s land. I lost precious financial resource. But now the foundation is in the right place. As I have said earlier in this blog the house will be a center where alternative technologies and ideas will be shown. I have singled out 31 principles to be practced in the house. It will also be the Deva Sumeet Holistic Corner in the region.

Comes October

October is here. For me it is just a magic, sacred little point on Earth where in the last tens of thousands of years two important Eath Rivers meet (Iguassu and Paraná) and more recently three countries converge. At this excatc place, former Jaime Lerner and author of Urbanistc Acupuncture, created the Space for the Americas. The place for me is an antena or brings to my mind the image of an acunpuncture needle at work intheprocess of healing Earth. It was here that Daniel Namkhay and Karina Iman offered an unforgettable show on September 20 as part of the celebration of the Spring Equinox and the Internation Peace Day.

Finally, a little step forward

Something like the little step for some and a big leap for others: I have bought today a small, old wooden house - just the house - that has to be taken away from where it presently stands to the new location. The question is that I am divided between Foz do Iguacu (20 km from the Sacred Iguassu Falls) or in the city of Capitao Leonida Marques (about three hours by bus from the Iguassu Falls). The problem is that the CLM house is also mine and already exist while the project in Foz do Iguacu will have be started from scratch.

The construction is simple, typical of the local building culture and unfortunately is built in the wrong way as far as alternative Earth-friendly methods are concerned. There is a flush toilet sending excreta and urine straight down the drain to a hole in the ground covered with a concrete top. All the house-generated kinds of water from baths and dishwashing go there.

So the plan is to change all that and bring all the good ideas. The idea is also to set up a little Radical Environmental School where radical means "root". Also, CLM lies in the countryside, with green rolling hills and a quiet lifestyle. There are also plenty of sewer problems in rural properties. Keep in touch! I will post a photo of the house later today.

One step at a time...

Hi everyone out there! In my Brazilian blog I have posted a photo of a solar cooker. But most of you already know what a solar cooker is, so there is no point in posting known pictures. I was just was trying to say that there will be solar cookers at the Che Roga ExpoLife place. I am almost confident that there will be real Che Roga Photos by Tuesday, August 9. May be the photo of the empty lot, at first, and the surrounding area. Also, I am writing to say that I found a store in downtown Foz do Iguacu (Iguassu Falls City) called Terra Sul that sells plywood-like boards and roofing made out of recycled long-life milk boxes. Great isn't it. Che Roga ExpoLife will possibly this material for the roof in connection with rain catchment processes. Get in touch if you know something or if you desire to help the project by exhibiting your product!

I really feel sad with flush toilets. I do think that it is possible that it will be Brazil's first. Something really interesting happened when I was surfing through Google in Portuguese looking for "iurte". My screen flashed back at me and asked: Did you mean iogurte (yoghurt)? Check back after next week to see what is happening at the house. The photograph here is merely an illustration.

Che Roga ExpoLife

Hi, everyone in the world out there. Here I am writing from Iguassu Falls to tell you that beginning in early August I will start work on the Che Roga ExpoLife Project. Che Roga in the Guarani language means "My House" and ExpoLife an Anglo-Latin mix that means Life Exhibit. That means my house is a showroom. Of what?

Of alternative possibilities, technologies, lifestyle, Earth Connection and Spirituality. The first thing is to build a wall around the urban lot (16 x 25 mt) located in area known as Jardim Ipe in Foz do Iguacu. The wall will be built with old tires thrown out after having been used and abused and screeched and so on. The photographs here are illustrative only. I got the tire wall picture from www.flickr.com and the Watsu picture from www.spamariabonita.com.br My own photos will be uploaded as the process goes.

Next comes two small Yurt-like structures to serve, one, as living quarters and, the other, as meditation, classroom for several activities and a social area. There will be a cob or sand-bag structure to mimick the ovenbird clay nest where there will be a small "floatarium". There will be some urgency in building the Watsu Pool that must be heated and kept at 35 degrees celsius. Besides Watsu I will personally take care of Reiki and Ayurvedic Massage sessions. The idea is that the ExpoLife Center shows technologies like solar, alternative solar cooking, solar cooking recipes (based on Essene teachings), wind and mainly, dry toilets, water treatment, rainwater catching, small artficial wetland, productive walls and so on.

Trying to make a difference

The Bible says that it is not man's to guide his own steps. I believe that. How is it that we are always so good in choosing what normally destroys us? Look at how economy has been derailed in order to bring us to the present state of chaos. I am tired of all of this. I am trying to make a difference. I have just published a book that tries to tell the world that Iguassu Falls is Sacred. That is my way to mix ecology and spirituality and to keep it from being transformed into a Third World Disneyland. I will post my news, beginning August 1st, on my alternative living projects that will include a YURT, a dry non-flushing toilet, intensive use of rainwater, solar electricity, solar pool heating (The pool is for my Watsu practice), massage area, flotarium, meditation area, Goddess resting and recovering area, alternative economy, healing and several other ideas. Stay in touch. (This inspiring artwork is from www.unr.edu 's site. That is what all hands on Earth should do in order to save the Planet and ourselves).

Ecotherapy in Brazil with Jackson Lima

This is not a tourism site and I am not a travel agency. I am a therapist and spiritual teacher named Jackson Lima (Sw. Deva Sumeet) and who works for light and peace in this part of the world known as the Triple Border - a name I do not like. Triple Border is an abundance of borders and divisions. Only confusion can sprout from such an arragement. Since 1998, when I published a book (Portuguese only) called "In the Land of Many Waters", I started to think about the three-country international area as "The Land of Many Waters". I have just published my second book, this time called "The Secrete Y-Guassu: Iguassu Falls as a Chakra of the Earth" that soon will be available in Spanish and English (through www.Lulu.com internationally).

In my work what I do is to play with the energy of Y-Guassu (this is my official spelling, according to which, Y-Guassu is no longer just a name but rather a powerful mantra) coupled with some of the pratices developped elsewhere in God's world like Reiki, Ayurvedic Massage, Healing with material and ethereal Crystals, Watsu, Reiki in the Water, Kundalini Reiki and the Ama Deus Shamanic Healing - a contribution of the Brazilian Jungle to the world.

Beginning in August I will post information on my universalist projects in the cities of Foz do Iguacu and Capitain Leonidas Marques. An attempt of mixing ecology and spirituality, alternative technologies and world wisdoms, enjoyment and fun with healing and reconnecting with Earth, Us and the Universe. For some of this projects I will ask international help. The Y-Guassu area is a natural bioma that has been longly forgotten both by national and international ecology activists and scientists. The reason for the misleading attitude being the fact that the area is rather developed in the European sense of the word. And that is exactly where our problems lie. We do need the help of light workers and truth workers from the whole world. This blog is the channel for us to communicate. Please feel free to do so.
